First of all, my precious husband was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He went in for surgery and had one side of his thyroid taken out - at this stage they thought it was only a goiter - which was not too bad. Then ten days after that the biopsy results came back. I can tell you it hit us like a ton of bricks! BUT there is a silver lining in this, the type of cancer is called Papillary and is pretty easily cured. He is now due to go in to have the other side out on 7th June. This time he has to go to our nearest city, Perth, as there are no doctors here in the country that can do this. We went to see him and he was so upfront and took his time answering all of our questions. He will need to go in afterwards and have radioactive iodine injected to kill off any stray thyroid cancer cells that have strayed, plus he will now be on a substitute thyroid hormone for the rest of his life.
The second major thing that has happened is we lost our very very best friend, Willow. And even as I type this my eyes are filling up, she was our Shih Tzu and we loved her so so much. She passed away so unexpectedly, she was about twelve years old and was not sick at all. She went to sleep forever right next to our bed on the mat by my side of the bed. I can tell you now I wailed and cried and was beside myself with grief and shock. I held her in my arms for about half an hour. We had her cremated and will scatter her ashes in her favourite walking place.
Art wise, I have been busy. I did a very large painting and sold it before it was even finished! She is magnificent, a warrior woman, whom I felt I needed to bring forward to deal with all the crap that was happening to us.
Now I am doing my first giveaway on my Facebook page, I have two small owl paintings to give away! Yah.
Well my lovelies, this is all for now, more soon, hugs and love,
Rowan aka Elizabeth Jones xxx
